Established in 1939, (as the Australian Barley Board), Viterra operates in the Australian States of South Australia and Victoria, from which it holds exclusive rights to export unprocessed malting and feed barley. Viterra’s mission is to provide maximum long term financial returns to barley growers in South Australia and Victoria, through the marketing and selling of their grain production.

Supplying an average of 2 million tonnes of barley to an annual world trade of 14-16 million tonnes, Viterra is a significant market participant.

Within the world trade, almost 3 million tonnes is high value malting barley. A very special trade segment, Viterra is regularly the world trade’s largest supplier of malting barley.

As the name suggests, barley is the Viterra’s core business, however ABB is also a major domestic trader and exporter of oats, triticale, canola and a variety of pulses.

A regular exporter to countries on five continents, Viterra’s name is internationally recognised as being synonymous with reliability, quality of product and quality of service.

Viterra’s head office is located in Adelaide, South Australia, with a second office maintained in Melbourne, Victoria.
